It is Tuesday, April 16, 2019 and time for news stories from Liberal Minded Ladies of Substance. Don’t forget to recommend and share these round-ups.

I’m running a bit behind today, I know. I just can’t seem to get going without some sort of interruption! My focus is also completely shot today. I blame the warmer weather.

We have poll results from yesterday’s Presidential poll with a bit of a surprise. The Yang Gang was motivated and got in there to cast their votes! Here’s the results as of 12:30 today.

Top three spots are Andrew Yang, Bernie Sanders, and Pete Buttigieg. Good job to the supporters for motivating their people.

Sanders Releases 10 Years of Tax Returns, 9 Months Before Caucuses & Primaries Begin -- -- Bernie released his taxes. Spoiler alert -- They are as exciting as you'd imagine. (Although, apparently he does have some royalties from recording a folk song in the 80's).

I wasn't joking about the folk album.

April National Poll: Bernie Takes Lead for Democratic Nomination, Mayor Pete On The Move -- -- There has definitely been some jockeying for position. Bernie and Biden switched places, and Mike Gravel is pulling in 1% while Gillibrand has dropped off. I wonder if people are tiring of the Will-he-Won't-he aspect of Biden's candidacy.

U.S. deports spouse of fallen soldier, quickly reverses decision -- -- His wife was killed fighting in Afghanistan when she was 22. He was given a "parole in place" meaning he could stay without threat of deportation. ICE reopened his case and made sure they served the wrong address so he didn't show up for his hearing where the judge rescinded the order based on his absence. Somehow, though, ICE managed to find the RIGHT address to pick him up and deport him. His lawyer brought enough attention to his case that he's back in the US, but this underscores the cruelty of this Administration.

Sanders takes on Fox — and emerges triumphant -- -- Bernie had his town hall in the lion's den yesterday. How'd it go? Well, he had the majority of the crowd cheering for his policies and many agreed that they would rather have Medicare-For-All.

GOP Lawmaker Allegedly Ignored Request From 9/11 Firefighter Seeking Help -- -- Dan Crenshaw wants to comment on Ilhan Omar while not only ignoring 9/11 Responders, but also refusing to vote on the Compensation Fund. (Which was something Ilhan Omar supported.) The GOP likes to portray themselves as patriotic as long as it's only words and not actions.

‘Stop Sanders’ Democrats Are Agonizing Over His Momentum -- -- I'll say this. The NYT knows their audience. Sadly, I'm not their target, and I think this article may highlight the fears that the $50-a-plate Dems have, but shows how out of touch the party of the people really is. Interviewing David Brock for this isn't going to score points either. And Brock proved that point with his last quote. Rich people DON'T like Bernie. That's why the workers need him.

YouTube's New Fact-Check Tool Flagged Notre Dame Fire Coverage And Attached An Article About 9/11 -- -- One Twitter user compared it to "Clippy on steroids." In all honesty, this is a failure of mechanics and complete proof that machine learning still needs a human touch.

Trump Tells Personal Accountant To Ignore Dem Subpoena For His Financial Info -- -- I'm pretty sure a Congressional Subpoena is not ignorable, even if you're the president. The fact that Republicans are moving to diminish the Legislative and Judicial branch in favor of an overreaching Executive branch should be terrifying to all Americans. This is how Dictatorships are born.

Trump escalates feud with Rep. Ilhan Omar -- -- I have often said that Trump will start his own Reichstaag Fire rather than give up power. This highlights my concern. Why else would he be more than willing to stir up violence and hatred, sow division and rile up a racist and bigoted base knowing the danger they present? He's a threat to the very foundations of this country.

WH Officials Having ‘Breakdown-Level Anxiety’ That Mueller Report Will Show They Ratted On Trump -- -- My initial thought is he is a terrible boss anyhow if people are reacting with that much stress. The other part of it is that he's a terrible leader for doing things that required ratting out. What an unmitigated shitshow this administration is.
