Don’t mess with Bob Mueller. Ask Paul Manafort.

By releasing his letter, Mueller put Barr in an impossible position. The letter made it clear that Barr had lied to Congress.

Today Barr lied several more times, getting himself in potentially more trouble.

Democrats are calling for Barr’s resignation and I think it would be a good idea for him. Otherwise maybe Barr ends up in prison next to Manafort. The only thing saving Barr is the complete corruption of the Senate Republicans and the control that Trump has over the Justice Department.

Technically Barr is the head of the Justice Department and Mueller works for him. But really today Barr showed that he is a pathetic liar and that Mueller can run rings around him in this process.

Lindsey Graham says that the Mueller report is over and done. Nancy Pelosi says that we shouldn’t impeach. Better to focus on healthcare. The Justice Department says that Mueller will be leaving in the next few days.

But I think the Mueller story is not over by a long shot. Even if Mueller does leave, I guess the investigations continue. I think Mueller still has quite a few cards up his sleeve, some of which we are not aware of at this point.
