Lots of news this weekend about Trump -Russia collusion, from Trump being investigated by the FBI as a Russian agent (NYT) to him concealing contents of his meetings with Putin (WaPo).
These two stories interlock like the pieces of a puzzle and indeed as bits and pieces get leaked, a big picture is slowly coming into focus.
So. Thanks to Andrew Weiss on Twitter we get an observation of the curious timeline between the G20 secret Trump/Putin meeting and Trump dictating on Air Force 1 the statement trying to explain away the purpose of the Trump Tower Meeting the previous June
So. What are the odds that this is what Trump and Putin talked about in their secret meeting, the contents of which Trump hid from EVERYONE?
It’s certainly good incentive for Trump to keep hidden from his own staff the contents of the discussion. It always struck me as a bit odd that Donald Trump would have dictated this explanation; this always seemed to me way above his intellect and pay grade. It makes so much more sense that he was following orders
The FBI story at first seemed like the big bombshell reveal but the WaPo story seems to be the one with more juice.

Loyal toady Ted Cruz thinks it’s “premature “ to request the interpreter’s notes.
From MTP yesterday: Never the less, Cruz remains nonplussed, feeling that it is "premature" to subpoena the translator's notes.
"I think it's premature for that," said Cruz. "I've seen the allegations. I want to find out a little bit more about what happened there. I want to learn more than just the allegations in the press."
Well since there are no notes from the second meeting and Trump was the only American present, I wonder how he intends to find out , other than what he and every other American can only glean from the press
