What was initially billed as an impromptu White House briefing Thursday afternoon actually involved no briefing whatsoever. Instead, Donald Trump staged a political stunt in which he paraded border patrol officials through the White House briefing room so they could praise him and his precious wall and scare Americans about border crossers. Rest assured that after they relayed their brief remarks in support of Trump’s border wall position, they took absolutely no questions.
After leading about eight border agents on to the briefing stage, Trump said, “They're tough, they're smart, they think, they love our country.” (Yes, “they think.”) The first and main speaker was National Border Patrol Council president and frequent Fox News guest Brandon Judd who said, “Walls actually work.” Then came the vice president of the National Border Patrol Council who said agents were “extremely grateful” to Trump and then delivered this gem:
"If I come to your home, do you want me to knock on that front door or do you want me to climb through that window?”
No word on what exactly that meant, but then again no questions were allowed.
Some other guy got up to talk about “murderers” and “rapists”—perhaps he penned Trump’s candidacy announcement?
Trump wrapped up by saying, “Without a wall, we cannot have border security."
Yep, that’s all folks. Trump sure showed up Speaker Nancy Pelosi with that one!
