In the same hour Rudy Giuliani told the press he would not comply with congressional subpoenas related to the impeachment inquiry and his shady work in Ukraine, Sen. Lindsey Graham ran into a gaggle of reporters in a Senate hallway and one reporter said, “20 years ago, you said not complying with a subpoena was an impeachable offense.” Before the reporter could even ask what had changed, Graham stammered and interrupted, “Nothing’s changed.”
Does Lindsey Graham look a little shook here?
In fact, despite objections from the White House and the State Department, career civil servants are complying with congressional subpoenas. Former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was the first to comply and now other dominoes are falling quickly: National Security Council official Fiona Hill, EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland, Ukraine special representative Kurt Volker, and George Kent, who abruptly resigned from his role last week as the deputy secretary of the State Department.
If you are tired of the Republican double talk in the U.S. Senate, click here to donate take back the Senate! This fund will be divided among the Democratic candidates in the most critical races, including Lindsey Graham's 2020 challenger!
Maybe 2019 Lindsey Graham should have a talk with 2016 Lindsey Graham and 1999 Lindsey Graham to see if they can find some common ground.
