Scaramucci, known as the "Mooch," is a hedge fund salesman and short-lived communications director for the Trump administration before flaming out and transforming himself into a fierce Trump critic. While he wasn't in attendance, according to people with direct knowledge of the event, about two dozen Wall Street executives sat for the off-the-record meeting with Gabbard that was hosted by Robert Wolf, himself a prominent Wall Street Democrat (golfing buddy of former President Barack Obama) and past chief of Swiss bank UBS' U.S. operations.
Now, Gasparino is a Fox Business reporter, so this “scoop” must be taken with grains of salt, but he’s also a CNBC and Newsweek alum, who’s long been well-connected to Wall Street. As Salon notes, neither he nor Clinton are alone when it comes to this line of speculation about the Gabbard campaign.
Gabbard did vow not to run third-party in August, yet as her disastrous campaign for the Democratic nomination veers toward its natural end, Gasparino claims that he was told that the execs in attendance were potential donors, who will “be hit up for contributions by the Gabbard campaign at some point.”
Hmm …
Notably, neither Gabbard nor Wolf responded to requests for comment from multiple outlets.
With Gabbard’s campaign flailing at the bottom, why isn’t she hitting those donors up now? That, like the veracity of Gasparino’s report, is for you to decide. But I do know that Tulsi Gabbard is the dream “troll candidate.” Her entire persona is tailor-made to be a spoiler. Both conservative Democrats in the Rust Belt and moderate Republican voters nationwide have at least one thing in common: They hate Donald Trump. Unfortunately, they are also leery of Elizabeth Warren, who fights GOP smears every day. If Gabbard runs without the Democratic nomination, this thinking goes, enough of these people who might have voted for a Democratic candidate will vote third party instead of for Warren.
Conservative Republicans will stick with Trump, of course … because no matter how bad Trump ruins their lives, they’ll be damned before they would ever consider voting for a Hindu woman.
There’s a significant advantage for a Gabbard spoiler run, when it comes to the grifting, Wall Street Trump-loving executives. They can’t directly support Trump, after all. Anyone holding a Trump fundraiser or donating money to the campaign will be (correctly) labeled as a supporter of a misogynistic, bigoted psychopath. They can, however, donate to Gabbard’s campaign. I predict a lot of businesses, fearing a boycott, will instead contribute to Gabbard, because indirectly helping Trump is pretty much the same thing as helping him directly—just without the backlash.
Russian state media, which takes direct orders from the Kremlin, have notably been praising two particular politicians: Trump and Gabbard. Both serve their interests. Lucky for them, there is a well-known national party that can help them out, and who has helped them before.
The Green Party was once a principled challenger to the two-party system, dedicated to saving the Earth, but now it’s nothing more than a path to help elect the extreme rightwing candidates. These candidates then proceed to destroy the environment, which is the polar opposite of what the Green Party’s purported mission is. Whether it’s Ralph Nader supporters collecting signatures at Bush rallies, or Jill Stein supporters fiercely defending Trump, those who wish harm on our country can always count on the Green Party to help the campaign of the worst politician in the race. By the way, 2016 Green candidate Stein now promotes Gabbard’s campaign.
Thus, Gabbard is an ideal Russian asset. That sounds harsh, but don’t take my word for it. Take the word of a former FBI double agent.
Agents are groomed and directed, while assets are used--often unwittingly.
An asset is a person or thing that an intelligence service can use to its advantage. For example, a candidate who criticizes impeachment proceedings, supports US withdrawl from Syria, warns of a nuclear race and happens to be presidential candidate would undoubtedly be seen as an asset in Russia's efforts to cause chaos in our 2020 elections.
In sum, what about Gabbard wouldn't appeal to Russia?
Good question.
Meanwhile, Gabbard appeared on Sean Hannity Thursday night, agreeing with Fla. Rep. Matt Gaetz’ security-violating stunt at the SCIF.
A week earlier, on Oct. 18, Gabbard also joined Tucker Carlson to bash Clinton and other Democrats, all while giving him a pass for his blantant brand of white supremacism. White supremacists do love her—she’s loved by both Steve Bannon and David Duke. Gabbard is also the only Democratic candidate who was an early advisor to Trump (on Syria), and she was even considered for a cabinet position.
All rumors aside, Gabbard dropped out of her Congressional race because she didn’t want to get beaten in April’s Hawaii primary. Let’s make sure this rumored third-party presidential run gains as much traction as Howard Schultz’ vain effort. Then Gabbard can finally do what she seems to really want to do: Host a talk show on Fox News.
