I thought I’d share a couple of pictures and stories from our time here in Peru.
First up, something that had us a little concerned but so far doesn’t seem to be a problem
This photo was taken at Ollantaytambo, in Peru’s Sacred Valley, near Machu Picchu. Altitude was probably ~9200’ and we climbed up the stairs of this terraced structure. If you look closely you can see tiny people climbing up the left side of the terraces.
It was difficult, but fortunately we stopped every couple of terraces to listen to our guide describe something.
Our grandson counted the steps up and came up with ~250; it felt like 2500 ;)
Our granddaughter counted in a measure that replicated how hard it was, “100, 200, 5000...”
