You may have heard that there’s another debate on Wednesday. I wanted to give people a chance to see some of Kamala Harris’ really great moments, both in debates and at other times. This is a recent example, that tired trope of “black people are more homophobic”
When I hear this, I wonder why the speaker doesn’t talk about a huge group who have actually gotten homophobic laws passed: white evangelicals.
I loved her opening in the September debate, calling out Trump for sowing hate, division & fear:
That is what I love about Sen. Harris, that calling for leaving all that stuff behind, to unify and support each other. No, this nation has never really had that, but we’ve certainly had times we were closer to it than this.
And there are so many issues she stands out on. Gun violence is one where all our candidates know the importance, but Harris’ career us unique among them. She has seen the results of out gun violence nightmare up close: autopsy & crime scene photos, has held the hands of survivors & families of victims. I want a candidate with her passion:
This whole interview with Joy Reid was great, despite multiple technical glitches, but especially this. She has been there, doing the hard work:
Here’s an example of what she’s done that actually helped people, the Back On Track program:
For me — and probably for most Kossacks — the bottom line is this: Trump has got to go
Oh, y’all — this interview, about breaking barriers….. please watch!

And now for some music. Love this one by Hozier featuring Mavis Staples. An interview with Mr. Byrne about why he wrote this says: “A “song about protest songs,” the rousing, gospel-tinged “Nina Cried Power,” is Hozier’s way of honoring the freedom-fighting singers of years past — including Mavis Staples, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and, most notably, Nina Simone, who inspired the song’s title.”
It's not the wakin', it's the risin'
It is the groundin' of a foot uncompromisin'
It's not forgoin' of the lie
It's not the openin' of eyes
It's not the wakin', it's the risin'
and Keb’ Mo’ has a great idea — Put A Woman In Charge
And an oldie from Peter Gabriel, but it’s a good ‘un
Turning the tide, you are on the incoming wave
Turning the tide, you know you are nobody's slave
Find your sisters or brothers who can hear all the truth in what you say
They can support you when you're on your way
It's your day, a woman's day
It's your day, a woman's day
and I love this from Beyonce
They love the way I walk
'Cause I walk with a vengeance
And they listen to me when I talk 'cause I ain't pretending
It took a while, now I understand just where I'm goin'
I know the world and I know who I am
It's 'bout time I show it
and one more video — not an interview, but a segment from Joy Reid’s show where she wonders why there’s always an obituary for Harris’ campaign, but not for any of the other “low-polling” candidates
