Well, the lovebirds are at it again. Former president Jimmy Carter and his first lady, Rosalynn Carter, were joyfully surprised when they were caught on Kiss Cam while the Atlanta Hawks hosted the New York Knicks. The couple was there to receive a humanitarian award, to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and to honor the LGBTQ community with the Hawks’ first Pride Night. The theme for the night? “Love Wins.”
Here is the kiss in full action.
The crowd loved it.
Jimmy, 94 and Rosalynn, 91, are both from Plains, Georgia, and have been married for over seven decades, but Jimmy had some courting to do before Rosalynn accepted his marriage proposal. They have said the key to their marriage is respect and giving each other personal space. There wasn’t much personal space at the Hawks vs. Knicks game. In fact, that kiss was pretty romantic.
They love each other—and the world sure loves them for their decades of humanitarian and peacekeeping work around the globe. They are both American treasures.
Also in Jimmy Carter news this past week—the former President won his second Grammy on Sunday night: His audiobook, Faith, won “Best Spoken Word.”
