Just a quick one here to note the passing of a baseball great, Frank Robinson who died today at the age of 83.
First black man to manage a major league team, only man to win MVP in both leagues, 4th place for most homers in a career, triple crown winner (for you non-baseball fans that means leading the league in hrs. rbi. and batting avg. the same year)
As a lifelong Orioles fan Frank Robinson is about the top of the pile (along with his “brother” Brooks) for Orioles royalty. I remember fondly his Kangaroo court held after most games where players would be fined a few dollars for any and every little ridiculous thing imaginable, the proceeds mainly intended for post championship celebrations.
I don’t have the time now to write a biography for him, you can surely find many online.
I just wanted to note his passing and tip the orange and back hat in his honor.
You will be missed Frank.
