As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Mr. Zen and I spent an anniversary in Julian, Ca. It is a lovely little town in the Anza Borrego desert, and it famous for the apple pie. Everyone you meet, everywhere you go, you are asked “Have you had the pie?” It was good.
The morning after I met Mr. Zen, he was having a cup of coffee in my dining room, looking at the decorations on the kitchen wall. One of them was a pie plate with the recipe for lemon meringue pie and he mentioned that that was his favorite pie. I had never made one, the plate was just decor, and I didn’t expect he would just stay and marry me, so I told him I made a faboo lemon pie. The day came that I had to make good on that boast, I used the recipe on the plate, it was really good and THEN I confessed all.
My mother liked mincemeat pie at the holidays. I was never thrilled about it.
I like all fruit pies, especially double crust ones. I think I really just like crust and can’t make it very well. I gave up baking pies a few years ago because I was not good at it and we have a plethora of primo pie purveyors, like Polly’s and Marie Calendar’s. Now I buy pie.
I plan to go out this morning and have a piece of pie for breakfast. No one will care and i will enjoy it. I suggest it to you if it suits your fancy. Maybe the shops will charge $3.14 per slice in honor of the day.
