On Tuesday, Wells Fargo CEO Tim Sloan spoke with the House Financial Services Committee about the health of the banking industry. He had a lot of answering to do to elected officials for the decades-long slew of fraud cases against his big bank. One of those elected officials was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wanted to understand what exactly the big bank’s CEO felt were his business’s liabilities. One exchange caught right wingers’ ears because it called for the viewer to actually listen to the whole exchange, and everyone knows that full context is not a conservative news outlet’s “strength.” Marisa Murphy, working her possibly right-leaning demographic, is on some reality television show called Rodeo Girls, and she’s figured out the fatal flaw in Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s questioning of the Wells Fargo CEO.
KaBoo—wait that is the law. But don’t ask me, ask a bartender-turned-lawmaker … like Rep. Ocasio-Cortez!
Ouch.
Dram shop liabilities are something most sizable restaurants will tell all of their employees about the moment you are hired.
Murphy tried to continue her winning streak on this argument.
But that didn’t go very well either.
And here’s a philosophical take that may prove that the absolute is NOT relative!
After someone pointed out that her original tweet actually said “while driving drunk,” the piss poor goal post moving got its own GIF.
Requisite Simpsons gif coming up!
And a kindness.
