¡Bienvenidos desde San Juan! Good morning from San Juan to all of Senator Kamala Harris’ supporters.
Yesterday we kicked off our new community group Kamala2020, here at Daily Kos, and before we get into this morning’s post, I’d like to offer my congratulations and deepest thanks to everyone who came by to lend their support. If you’d like an invitation to join our group, please leave your request in the comment section below and we promise to respond as quickly as possible.
Please don’t forget to stop by our group page linked above and give us a follow. This way all our group’s future posts will show up in your stream and we can maximize our effectiveness in getting the word out. I also want to make clear that this group is not affiliated with the Kamala Harris Campaign.
This community group has been created to positively support Kamala, and not to engage in any negativity towards other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries. I think all of us know that Daily Kos is a huge community and some negativity may be unavoidable, perhaps even expected, and there are fellow members and readers who do not share in our support or enthusiasm for Kamala.
What’s not welcomed is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or destructive insults and attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own actions — that’s 100% on us. The primaries are a notorious battleground here at Dkos, and at times toxic. Those of us who have been around for while can definitely attest to this reality, as well as the reality that there are many of our fellow Dkos travelers who are no longer around. I want everyone here to be around for many years to come.
From the deepest part of my heart, I’d like to convey to all the group’s members, and all those who support Kamala’s historic bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity. At all. Do not engage, though at times over the course of the next year It may be so difficult. I believe we all are familiar with the ageless wisdom — if we don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Let’s honor our candidate with all the grace and respect I think she deserves, and let’s not let any of our actions reflect poorly on someone working so hard for the chance to represent all of us.
Jumps off soapbox (hallelujah) and on with the morning show!
Please share your favorite Kamala news stories, tweets, music and pics, and let’s make a joyful noise!
From Earth Day into Earth Week, from next week through the convention and beyond, Senator Kamala Harris will prove to be not just a joyful warrior, but the climate warrior I’m so proud to support…
