Humpty Trumpty Wanted a Wall
Humpty Trumpty wanted a wall,
Humpty Trumpty promised us all:
“Our Mexican neighbors will fund it,” he said.
They shrugged and retorted, “You’re cracked in the head.”
Humpty Trumpty crowed for a wall.
He shut down the government, workers and all.
No-Nonsense Nancy said, “Nough is enough!
You’re being a baby—I’m calling your bluff.”
A National ‘Mergency Trumpty did call,
“I demand that we build me a legacy wall!”
And all of his lawyers and some of his friends,
Nodded and winked and agreed to pretend.
So Humpty Trumpty sat on his wall.
And Humpty Trumpty took a great fall.
And all the king’s horses and all the king’s men,
Couldn’t put Trumpty together again.
Greetings Daily Kosers,
Over the past year I’ve been writing and illustrating political nursery rhymes under the banner Georgie the Porgie: Nursery Rhymes for Modern Times (for adults of all ages). I’ve entered the social media scene by setting up a Blog where I post weekly. Please check it out! The nursery rhymes are sometimes funny, but are more often biting, left-leaning satire/irony. Ultimately I hope to publish these in a book.
This is my first entry on DK, so I’m figuring out just how it works. Not only do I invite your commentary, but I would love feedback regarding The Daily Kos and how/where to share these rhymes, etc. More to follow... Thanks and enjoy. Georgie
