At a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Kamala Harris made it crystal clear that she isn’t running for second place in the Democratic primary.
Harris responded to a question about a possible Biden/Harris “dream ticket,” and her response was to the point: “I think Joe Biden would be a great running mate. As vice president he’s proven that he knows how to do the job.”
Ouch, but very true.
Harris was asked the question in response to a Politico article that suggested the Congressional Black Caucus might have found its “dream ticket” in a Biden-Harris teaming, although the article goes on to note that the caucus hasn’t made a decision on whom to endorse.
Kamala Harris is just as qualified as Joe Biden or any other Democratic candidate to be president of the United States. Let’s hope her strong response here puts speculation about her settling for the second spot to rest. Let the process play out, and may the best candidate win. We’ll all get behind that candidate, and then we’ll get rid of the scourge in the White House.
That sounds like a plan to me.
