While Donald Trump and allied Republicans take a sledgehammer to the rule of law, the overtly racist Iowa Rep. Steve King is continuing to keep a low profile, waiting for the moment when House Republicans have decided the heat has died down and they can welcome him back into the fold.
So here he is telling an Iowa town hall audience that it's not that he's racist; it's just that other races have bad cultures. He's not racist; he's just being patriotic. Said King at the town hall in Fort Dodge, “If we presume that every culture is equal and has an equal amount to contribute to our civilization, then we're devaluing the contributions of the people that laid the foundation for America and that's our founding fathers. It is not about race, it's never been about race. It is about culture.”
Steve King: the congressman for Iowa parents fed up with schools teaching their children Arabic numerals.
This guy is one lost election away from taking over Tucker Carlson's Fox News White Power Rant-O-Rama. As for the keeping-a-low-profile part, King already appears to be chafing mightily at his new backbencher status. He told his audience that he's working to recapture his committee assignments and suggested that he doesn't have much patience left. "I've been Mr. Nice Guy about this all along and let the cooler heads take over and now ... pretty soon I'm going to start pushing."
You do that, Steve. You do that.
