It is May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day!
The phrase “May the Fourth Be With You” was first used on May 4, 1979, the day Margaret Thatcher took office as UK Prime Minister. The Conservative Party reportedly placed an ad in the London Evening News that read, "May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations." The rest, as they say, is history.
There are thousands of tweets celebrating Star Wars Day, many from the usual suspects hawking Star Wars related merchandise.
