Rep. Chip Roy will be keeping the House up all night in a demand for 'border crisis' money

Not acceptable: Disaster relief to American citizens. Acceptable: $4.5 billion in additional 'border' funding because Donald Trump said he wanted it. Your Republican Party, America.

In what appears to be a devoted effort to irritate everyone else in Congress for no practical gain, Republican Rep. Chip Roy is seeking to delay the House's current appropriations bill by … unconventional means.

PSA: @RepChipRoy is in the process of requesting recorded votes on *every* floor amendment to the Approps minibus.
There are *106* amendments in order. (A few will be withdrawn.)
The practical effect of this will be to keep 400+ lawmakers and hundreds more staff up all night.

Roy, a former aide to Sen. Ted Cruz, previously single-handedly held up the already-delayed recent House disaster relief bill by objecting to a motion to approve the bill by unanimous consent before the Memorial Day recess. After subsequent identical objections by Reps. Tom Massie and John Rose, the bill was delayed until the return of the full House.

On Twitter, Roy tied these new delaying efforts to a demand to "vote immediately on resources & measures" to end the Trump-promoted border "crisis." He had previously moved to adjourn the House because they were not voting for Trump's requested $4.5 billion in additional border funds.

Some Republicans are more committed to Trump’s xenophobic election ploys than others. Chip Roy? Oh, he's committed.
