She really tried it and failed. Kellyanne Conway took a break from repeatedly violating the Hatch Act to describe a disagreement between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and four Democratic congresswomen over a border funding vote as a “major meow mashup.” One of those four legislators, Massachusetts’ Ayanna Pressley, was having none of it.
“Oh hi Distraction Becky,” she tweeted. “Remember that time your boss tore babies from their mothers’ arms and threw them in cages? Yeah take a seat and keep my name out of your lying mouth.”
Have all the seats indeed, Kellyanne. The four legislators, who also included Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, voted against the funding over concerns that the Trump administration will use the money not to address the humanitarian disasters it has created, but instead to ramp it up. Their concerns are justified: on Tuesday night, NBC News reported serious allegations, including sexual assault, at the hands of agents within border facilities.
Can you chip in even $1 to help keep Democratic leaders like Ayanna Pressley in the House?
