AP Reports: Harris Blasts, And Takes Money From Epstein's Law Firm
“In our democracy, no one — no matter how powerful or well-connected — is above the law. Yet Epstein’s deal, secured by his lawyers at Kirkland and Ellis, calls into question the integrity of our legal system and undermines the public’s confidence that justice will be served,” Harris said in a statement.
Yet the same day, Harris’ husband headlined a Chicago fundraiser for her presidential campaign that was hosted by six partners of that firm — Kirkland and Ellis.
Questions for everybody supporting Kamala Harris because they think she is tough and is going to go to battle for us:
How do you justify her willingness to do battle with Epstein against her willingness to take Epstein’s lawyers money? Does that not call into question her willingness to go up against Epstein and the lawyers from Kirkland and Ellis?
The response from Harris’ campaign was given by Ian Sams, a Harris spokesman, who said there wasn’t a problem with accepting the campaign contributions because the firm is big and the partners who hosted the fundraiser didn’t work on Epstein’s plea agreement.
“The people involved in that case have not supported her campaign, and she wouldn’t want that support anyway,” Sams said.
If the firm is that big… how does Sams truthfully know what he is asserting? Also.,.. the partners of the lawfirm today were the associates who were around when the firm negotiated the settlement with Acosta.
Why not just avoid controversy and not take any money from them? Why accept this money?
