Most primary campaigns focus on regular primary voters. They know this is a small group. It’s tough to get people’s attention and get them to the polls in January or February. But Bernie’s campaign isn’t like most campaigns. Bernie knows that for his agenda to become a reality, rather than merely remain a wish-list, millions of people will have to join him to demand systematic change.
That means going beyond the usual round of network interviews, state fairs, church lunches and Democratic clubs. So Bernie held an interview with CardiB. And she polled her 50 million followers to see what they were interested in hearing her ask him.
So I know this is long over due but here it is ! A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you all had the chance to ask a Democratic candidate a question, what would that question be? The topic that was mentioned the most by all of you was about raising MINIMUM WAGE. I got the chance to ask @berniesandersabout this, and these are his answers. Keep sending your questions, we will be addressing more of these soon! — www.instagram.com/...
In the first day it’s been up, the 1 minute clip posted by CardiB has racked up almost 6 million views. They wouldn’t watch a politics show on network TV, but they watched this video because they believe in CardiB and were interested in the subject, the minimum wage.
"Like, for example me, as a New Yorker, not now, but you know, when I was not famous, I just felt like no matter how many jobs I get, I wasn't able to make ends meet," she said. "Like, I wasn't able to pay my rent, get transportation and eat."
Sanders said that's an issue in America, adding tens of millions are living on what he described as starvation wages.
"Can you imagine somebody today earning $9 an hour?" he asked. "How do you pay your rent? How do you pay for food? How do you pay for transportation?" — www.cnn.com/...
But that isn’t all, Bernie also went on Joe Rogan’s show earlier this this month. That hour long interview has racked up almost 9 million views on YouTube alone. It’s quickly become one of the 10 most watched shows among Rogan’s 1300+ episodes.
Rogan’s audience are not typical Democratic voters. Most probably aren’t even Democratic voters at all, neither is Rogan. Yet, after talking to Bernie for an hour...
