As expected, the House Judiciary Committee has now issued a subpoena demanding testimony from ex-Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Lewandowski, along with also-subpoenaed Trump White House aide Rick Dearborn, was identified in special counsel Robert Mueller's report as being involved with efforts by Donald Trump to obstruct the government investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
In the report, Trump is identified as having instructed Lewandowski to relay a message ordering Attorney General Jeff Sessions to announce that Mueller's investigation was "very unfair" to Trump, that Trump was innocent, and that the probe would therefore be restricted to investigating only future election meddling. Lewandowski dodged doing so, telling Dearborn to do it; an alarmed Dearborn did not do it either.
The subpoena comes on a day in which Lewandowski will be attending a New Hampshire Trump rally. Lewandowski is, because the Republican Party is garbage now, strongly considering a run for the Senate in that state.
