A couple of days ago it was reported that a petition to rename the block of Fifth Avenue in New York City in front of Trump Tower “President Barack H. Obama Ave” had already gotten 85,000 signatures. Well, that number has grown exponentially, and as of Friday morning, news outlets were reporting that the petition to turn Donald Trump’s Trump Tower address into 725 President Barack H. Obama Avenue had reached over 350,000 signatures.
The petition is looking for 375,000 signatures, and by the time you finish reading this diary, the organizers may already be there.”
According to New York station ABC 7, the petition began as a joke, and while the petitioners plan on presenting their petition to Mayor Bill de Blasio, there is next to no chance that we will see a renamed Fifth Avenue any time soon.
