The Rusal investment in the Kentucky Aluminum Company is just one more inroad by Russia to rein in American Democracy. Moscow Mitch and Dimwit Donny are both tied to Moscow now. Moscow Mitch arranged to lift the Derepaska business sanctions and shortly after Rusal invested $200,000,000.00 in an aluminum plant in Kentucky. Quid pro Quo? Yes, but more sinister than that. Of course, Moscow Mitch is running again in 2020, so this is a good thing for his campaign.
The Russians have used a strategy all over Europe of making very large investments in big businesses and then used the influence of those companies to effect changes in government that are more favorable to Russia. The Russians now have something they can hold over Moscow Mitch who could once again be senate majority leader for up to six years after the 2020 election. In addition, Rusal can become a source of political influence in both Kentucky and US politics. Now Rusal is reaching out to other states with the same offer of money to create an aluminum plant they made to Kentucky. Imagine what political power they could wield if they succeed in “suckering” several other states.
Why hasn’t this development under the auspices of Moscow Mitch been seen for what it is? McConnell is not a stupid or naive man, he is the reincarnation of Machiavelli, after all. He knows that he sold out the country in return for political gain, oops I meant power. Also, consider that McConnell is blocking any legislation that might bolster the security of our elections, in response to Russian inteference. It frustrates me that many of us creating blogs here are like voices in the wilderness without a large enough audience to make a difference. I say that because I believe that an investigation into what Moscow Mitch has done might lead to his expulsion and I for one want to promote that result. Think about it, this man is the “swamp” in Washington.
You might want to take a look at Eric Swalwell’s website to see his report on members of Trump’s administration and associates ties to Russia.
