This past Monday, our dear friend Ekaterin had to say goodbye to her beloved kitty Casey, who many of you knew from his appearances here in the Pootie diaries. Casey had recently been diagnosed with abdominal lymphoma, and when the time came that he stopped eating and was in danger of getting into respiratory distress, his loving family eased his way over the bridge. At over eighteen years, he’d had a long and happy life, and we’d like to celebrate that here with a few pictures and memories — and also offer our love and condolences, because we know only too well how it feels.

Casey was a HANDSOME guy...
Which couldn’t be concealed, even when his mom dressed him up as a sushi.
And floofage? I’m pretty sure that Swampyankee — the ultimate connoisseur and arbiter of fluffy kitty tummies — rated him a perfect 10 tika-tikas.
He was a gentle, loving brother, and we know from Ekaterin that he and Mimi were inseparable.
And he and Andy were online pals from waaaaaaaay back. They bonded especially tightly after Casey had an operation to end recurring blockages brought on by kidney stones — an operation which removed his… his… oh I can’t say it.
This matter came up constantly in their conversations, with Andy offering support as best he could — for example, during the holidays when Casey unveiled his new Christmas hat.
Of course, Andy wasn’t Casey’s only online friend. He was a full-fledged member of the gang and took part in all their adventures.
The parties…
The joy rides…
The vacations…
And the voyages…
And he always WILL be part of their adventures, because cats are inter-dimensional like that!
So farewell, you wonderful kitty…
But only sort of, and only for now.
