With back-to-back gun massacres once again filling up the national news cycle, Americans’ demands for some actual policy movement on the part of our federal government continues to push past its saturation point. More and more pressure is being put on conservative politicians to, at the very least, come up with some faux policy. White supremacist in chief Donald Trump has offered up his usual Twitter gaslighting, and the NRA sees the tweet below as the best way to pretend they are trying to do something about our country’s gun violence epidemic gun, while doing less than nothing.
The NRA has been able to mostly stay out of the news lately in regard to gun violence, but mostly because the NRA’s internal civil war is a hot flaming pile of pitch. The NRA’s attempt at wading back into the national conversation by way of social media has resulted in some very specific responses. Here’s a taste:
And while that may be all that needs to be said about the NRA opening its greedy mouth, there are other responses that form something of a release valve for the rest of us.
