I’ve been very frustrated with the media, and it’s moments like this one that sends my frustration level through the roof.
Watch Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi speak for us, as she forcefully and passionately addresses the media’s attempt to “both sides” their coverage of gun legislation.
Transcript:
REPORTER: Do you have any regrets about not bringing the House back in August to keep the flame lit on gun violence?
PELOSI: No, absolutely not. We did our job. The Senate was suppose to come back. Why don’t you all get that straight?
The Senate did not come back to pass the bill. I’m getting very angry about the silliness of these questions.
Lives are at stake and Senator McConnell is standing in the way. We passed our bill in February. Members had events all over the country to ask him to bring up the bill.
Don’t ask me what we haven’t done. We have done it. And if you are annoyed with my impatience, it’s because people are dying, because Senator McConnell hasn’t acted. Why don’t you go ask him if he has any regrets for all the people who’ve died, because he hasn’t acted?
Bravo!
Nancy Pelosi was having none of the media trying to place blame on Democrats for the Republicans’ inaction on gun violence legislation. It boggles the mind how the media continues failing.
I shouldn’t be surprised here, but damn: The facts are there for all journalists to see and yet, Nancy Pelosi has to school reporters on how to do their jobs. We are up against a lot come 2020, and that includes the poor journalism that exists today.
