Thanks to steroid use for my various auto immune diseases I got osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. As you might know I went in and got a spinal stimulator which cut down the pain 90 percent.
Unfortunately the last week saw me get 2 pulmonary embolisms which were treated but during this process the leads of the stimulator fell off my back so the surgeon needs to hook them back up to a more secure area. Unfortunately due to the new embolisms surgery will be tricky as I need to be off my blood thinners prior to surgery which is not doable in the normal way. I'd have to be admitted to the hospital for 2 days prior to surgery on a heparin iv drip...briefly remove the iv have the surgery and then go back on the iv drip for 2 days.
Unfortunately I've just been told that i have a brand new l5 compression fracture to deal with. The docs here at the hospital where i am at for something unrelated met with me and tell me getting the stimulator reattached will help with the fracture pain and i should do it asap. The surgeons here at the hospital I am at recommend that my lead doctors here talk to my surgeon in the other hospital and they transfer me to the other hospital for treatment of the issue I'm here at with the other problem for as well as getting the stimulator surgery done. Hopefully I'll learn more today when i meet my head doc here.
Any thoughts of kindness, humor or prayers gladly accepted.
