Hello, Minnesota. Welcome to the Twin Cities Kossacks Weekend Open Thread, a weekly (usually) post for all things Minnesotan. Please join us to Connect, Unite and Act with other Twin Cities Kossacks. Posting most every Sunday . Do you live in Minnesota? Kosmail idlemoments to join this group so you can get updates on meetups and other Daily Kos activity in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
OPEN THREAD — SUNDAY MORNING — september 15, 2019
Hello fellow Kossacks and Minnesotans — hope you all got your kiddos safely off to school for the new school year and are enjoying doing other early-fallish things. Now comes the time of year when I am going to most enjoy weekly hikes with my hiking club. My favorite season in MN is most definitely early fall (even knowing what is to come).
This week’s highlights: Merlin1963 has written a thought-provoking piece on the subject of concern-trolling of the Progressive wing of the Democratic Party. poopdogcomedy writes about Senator Elizabeth Warren’s support of our own Senator Tina Smith. tdduff has a Greg-Palast-worthy (IMHO) piece of journalism on the subject of disaster capitalism, Marc Rich, corporate oligarchs, and the evils of letting said persons get their mitts on our precious natural resources in Minnesota. And shr4bob has an excellent rant on the subject of Trump and Sharpiegate.
Our next monthly meeting is Saturday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. at Patrick’s Bakery and Cafe, located in the Bachman’s at 6010 Lyndale Ave. So, Minneapolis. Just a little fyi — it’s a lovely cafe right in Bachman’s greenhouse, lots of off-street parking and a pretty setting, just bring your light jacket, because being right in the greenhouse, it can be a little chilly in there.
I STILL can’t figure out how to copy and paste/format the RSVP list (maybe idlemoments can give me a tutorial for that sometime) so if you want to RSVP, put it in the comments or Kosmail idlemoments.
This is an Open Thread, as always post away on whatever is on your mind today about life in Minnesota, or the world beyond.
