pResident Trump’s defenders are infamous for their claims to ‘alternative facts’ en.wikipedia.org/… so it should come as no surprise that the Trump White House also thinks that the American People should believe in alternative time.
We’re not talking about daylight savings time here — but the rate at which time passes — and we’ve been asked to believe that on the morning of July 25th 2019 in Trump’s White House - time just flew by — passing at three times its normal rate — simultaneously in both Washington DC and Kiev.
How else should we explain the readout of the Trump Zelensky phone call released by the White House www.washingtonpost.com/.... The 5 ½ page summary “transcript” of that call released by the White House only amounts to about 11 or 12 minutes of normally paced conversation. Yet the call log indicates that the call lasted for 30 minutes, from 9:03 to 9:33 am. So what happened — what was said — during the 18 or so missing minutes?
Lots and lots and lots of long awkward pauses I suppose.
I’m sure Zelensky must have had some difficulty since English is not his primary language and because Trump speaks in his own shall we say — unusual dialect, but surely that can’t account for all of that missing time.
The released portion of the call contains some seriously damaging conversation but also some curious ellipses ……..So we can only imagine what they decided not to release in the call log. Whatever it is, it must be cosmically damaging stuff — and there is up to 18 minutes of what must be deeply incriminating dialog — so much so that they have sequestered it on a code word protected server in the White House.
Secretary of State Pompeo knows what was said during the missing 18 minutes, since he sat in on the call. CIA General Counsel Courtney Simmons Elwood also knows, since we have learned that she went to the White House and read the call transcript — presumably the entire unabridged call log — after the Whistleblower initially made an anonymous complaint within the CIA.
Zelensky and whoever listened on his end knows, but with Putin at his throat, he isn’t talking. Others know as well.
The call was made from the White House residence — so it probably originated on Trump’s cell phone. That means there is a good chance that the call was intercepted by StingRays employed by any number of countries — friend and foe alike www.wired.com/.... If so — all those folks now hold leverage over Trump for whatever he said during those missing minutes. That it seems to me is a serious national security problem.
In more normal times, even if the contents of the call were highly sensitive, the entire transcript could be read by the Gang of 8 - and they could then judge the true intentions of the pResident and act accordingly.
Until and unless that happens — the White House leaves us to imagine that the 18 missing minutes of that Trump Zelensky conversation was entirely innocent — just small talk about golf, the weather, the doings of their wives and kids, next year’s vacation plans, what costumes they plan to wear for Halloween, the fall TV schedule and the best places to eat Chicken Kiev.
I’m sure that the White House thinks it was all boring inconsequential innocent benign stuff — just like the 1/3 of the call they decided to release.
