Couple months ago I redid a section of fence, In doing it I replace a wire fence with a board fence added 2 walk throw spots and a 12” gate. when I started painting the existing fencing I noticed how you couldn’t paint the ends of the boards in the overlap on a post. so I started spacing them so they could be painted & maybe help stop the rot at the end of the boards. I probably won’t live that long. the fence will be there unless taken down for 20 or more years !
