Trump Orders Federal Agencies To End Race Sensitivity Training, Calls It Un-American Propaganda

I didn’t see a diary about this development and I thought it was something people would want to know. Apparently it has become a subject of consternation on the right that the employees of the federal government are being made aware of racial bias and taught to overcome theirs via training courses. Talking about race and racial bias, in the face of statistics showing that certain groups are consistently underrepresented when government contracts are handed out, is “divisive” and “unAmerican,” according to a memo released by Russell Vought, Directed of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Trump has ordered that all training he doesn’t like stop immediately. There were certain key words and phrases that triggered Trump’s ire, like “White privilege” and “critical race theory,” but the description of what is to be excluded is broad enough, like “teaches that America is inherently racist or evil,” to encompass anything diversity related. Like everything else when it comes to race, Trump sends the message that not only should we not change for the better, we will make a valiant attempt to make things worse. 
 

Trump also claimed he supports the equal treatment of all Americans as he eliminated the very thing that was meant to bring that about. But some of these classes were started by Obama, and Trump is a White nationalist who hates everything Obama ever did, so it all has to go. I thought it interesting that a class on class bias was also affected. I guess rich people are unfairly targeted in Trump’s opinion too.
