Recently it was announced that the Trump campaign had cancelled previously booked TV ads in swing state Arizona effective after Labor Day. Arizona is a key swing state, so why would they do that? Only one reason — they are short of funds.

Today the NY Times has a great story explaining where their billion-dollar advantage went — all in grift, Trump property spending, legal fees and a few pure Trump-ego splurges. For example, $11 million on a Super Bowl ad because he didn’t want to be outspent by Bloomberg and $1m on ads in Washington DC. They have spent $800 million of their $1.1 billion raise, and are still 10 points back in the polls.

It’s worth noting that the RNC still hasn’t announced their August fundraising numbers — they are certain not to match Biden’s record breaking $365 million haul. So looks like Biden/Harris should have a comfortable cushion here. Texas, anyone?
