The Outer Limits introduction famously contained this quote:
We can change the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly, and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set.
Now, it appears, the ones hoping to move things into a sharp focus or to diminish opposition to a blur is none other than Russian propaganda radio sources, who advertise themselves the ones looking to tell you all about how liberals changed country badly every day. KCXL, is a Kansas City conservative radio station. The Kansas City Star published the deal and the change to the broadcast schedule today:
A Kansas City area radio station can broadcast Russian state-owned media programming, the type that U.S. intelligence called a “propaganda machine,” for six hours a day through a lease agreement struck by a local radio operator.
RM Broadcasting LLC, a Florida-based company that has agreements to broadcast the Russian state media program Radio Sputnik, reached a deal on Jan. 1 to lease air time through Alpine Broadcasting Corp. in Liberty. Alpine Broadcasting Corp. broadcasts on three frequencies in the Kansas City area: KCXL 1140 AM, 102.9 FM and 104.7 FM.
RM Broadcasting, a Florida based LLC, is a registered foreign agent for a simple reason: because it is difficult to deny the nature of the programming as nothing but a slanted view of the American outlook paid for by a foreign government and sponsors when you look at the balance sheet. Steve Vockrodt at the Kansas City Star posted the disclosures of the entity, showing the funding from — you guessed it — Russian sources to make the buys, listing the foreign entity putting up the money as: Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rossiya Segodnya, International Information Agency.
Oh well. As Trump officials might say: Я нихрена не вижу.
