The argument that Alan Dershowitz is making (hey, look, Dershowitz!) about withholding funds from Israel wouldn’t just be impeachable, it would be flat out illegal. Because the president is not allowed to refuse to allocate legislatively approved funds, unless there is a violation of a concern that’s actually in the legislation.
Also, 90% of the Senate would be voting to toss a president who withheld those funds.
And now Dershowitz is arguing about … other stuff, completely unrelated, even by second-cousin twice-removed basis from anything under discussion.
Oh, and Mr. Criminal Law endorses the “It cannot be a corrupt motive if you have a mixed motive.” Gentlemen, open the jails!
