It’s the second presidential debate and we’re all already surprised to see Donald Trump not interrupting both the facilitator or Joe Biden within the first 30 seconds. But how long can he last? As Biden began answering how he will lead this country out of crisis Trump seemed to have to physically restrain himself by posing like he was in a photoshoot. Either way, Biden brought the truth within the first 10 minutes of the debate, reiterating what we all know, that Trump “should not remain president.”
I guess we can stop watching it now. Just kidding, don’t do that. Biden noted not only the number of Americans that have died as a result of COVID-19—more than 220,000—but the fact that Trump has still not taken responsibility or control over handling this virus. “Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America,” Biden said.
As cases in the U.S. continue to increase nationwide, Trump still doesn’t believe in wearing a mask himself or encouraging his supporters to do so despite contracting COVID-19.
“The expectation is we'll have another 200,000 Americans dead between now and the end of the year,” Biden said. “If we just wore these masks, the president's own advisers have told him, we can save 100,000 lives.”
It’s easy to say who cares and who doesn’t about the citizens of this country. To Trump the coronavirus death toll clearly means nothing; He refuses to acknowledge it and take responsibility. Months have passed since the pandemic has started and Trump has yet to come up with a response to this deadly pandemic—no one can trust him serving another year in office. Biden is our only hope.
“The way this president has responded to this crisis has been absolutely tragic,” Biden said. “So folks, I will take care of this. I will end this.”
