New Daily Kos/Civiqs Polls: Biden, Greenfield Ahead in Iowa, Biden Tied with Trump in Texas

Today, Daily Kos announced findings from statewide surveys of likely voters in Iowa and Texas commissioned through Civiqs. In Iowa, Joe Biden leads Donald Trump 48%-47%, and Theresa Greenfield leads incumbent GOP Sen. Joni Ernst 49%-46%. In Texas, Biden and Trump are tied at 48%, and Republican Sen. John Cornyn leads MJ Hegar just 47%-46%.

“These new Daily Kos/Civiqs polls are full of exciting news for Democrats,” said Carolyn Fiddler, communications director for Daily Kos. “Democrats are poised to not only flip Iowa back to the Democratic presidential column, but also to add Texas to the list of states for Biden next month. Democratic candidates have a real opportunity to not only turn the Hawkeye State and the Lone Star State blue in the presidential race, but also to flip both U.S. Senate seats. This data fortifies both states’ status as top-tier presidential and U.S. Senate battlegrounds.”

The Iowa poll surveyed 756 likely voters, and the Texas poll surveyed 895 likely voters. Both polls were conducted online from October 3-6, 2020.
