As I sat to tried to organize the thousand thoughts swirling around in my brain, on State run media outlet FOX News I was watching Rudy Giuliani give a press conference in Washington; sweat pouring off him like he was a overmatched boxer in the 5th round of a title fight with the truth. Surrounded by a group of lawyers comprised of television ambulance chasers and charlatans. It has come to this America.
Trump’s decision to anoint Giuliani to lead the post 2020 election coup has damaged the credibility of any claims of election fraud perpetrated against the Trump campaign. Giuliani’s presence immediately casts doubt on the validity of Trump’s claim of fraud as he has become more of a punch line than a respected lawyer in recent years. He has evolved into Trump’s mouthpiece, a spin doctor with a prescription for dangerous propaganda. This is tantamount to Hitler hitching his wagon to Bugs Bunny instead of Joseph Goebbels.
Alas, four years was not enough. Trump had much more grifting of the American people to accomplish; he was not finished with his mandate to topple the democratic rule of America. There was still much work to be done to rewrite the U.S. Constitution and extend his sovereign rule for a lifetime. To create a white nationalist, autocratic America; with a massive economic and social divide between upper and lower class citizens. Start a war to put American military dominance on display to pump his ego. He was not done destroying the country.
Outside the patriotic bubble of the U.S.; it could have not been more obvious what Trump was trying accomplish from day one. He was never “presidential”; he became president of the most powerful country in the world with zero political experience. Not surprising considering there have been suggestions that Oprah Winfrey run for the Democrats. The esteem and stature of the U.S. president has lost it’s dignified esthetic presence and influence; due to the denigration of the Office by the immature, unethical and immoral behavior of Trump. Americans need to take a hard look at the belief that ANYONE can grow up to be President. There must be a demand for a base level of political and legal experience; a stable financial background free from multiple bankruptcies and a mountain of lawsuits. A man of ethical and moral standards, open to the belief that all people are created equal and should be treated equal. A man that doesn’t act as an asset for Vladimir Putin.
It seems obvious to state the importance of these qualities; however Trump managed to manipulate enough sheep to elect a vulgar, ignorant, failed businessman turned reality TV star. And there it is….TV star.
Barring successful completion of his post election coup. Donald Trump will leave office as the pop culture president. Using Twitter as his pulpit of terror. Not accomplishing anything but severely dividing the country; letting over 250,000 (and counting) Americans die of Covid-19 due to complete inaction; and subverting and damaging the principles of the foundations of the constitution that the U.S. was built on.
But, over 70 million Americans voted for him in this election. Is this a look into the soul of America? Almost half of the voters in America said “okay” to Trump. What’s their motivation? What does voting for Trump mean? I would argue supporters are collaborators. Some are caught up in his evil charisma garnered from his high profile TV and media presence; some agree with his white nationalist agenda; some think their most important right is to own as many tactical assault rifles they want; the wealthy gain from his tax cuts and Trump has been masterful at using fear as a motivator. And he will be their savior. There is no real substance or valor in their support of Trump, their motivations are selfish and dangerous.
The opinion of most people around the world is that if you support Trump you are a racist, wealthy, conservative who doesn’t believe in democracy, the constitution or rule of law. Or you are a racist, under educated, poor, gun loving conservative who doesn’t know that Trump is subverting your democracy, rights and freedoms for his personal wealth and power gain. OR, you are neither of those types. But if you are neither of those types, think about why you voted for him, what you wanted from Trump. You didn’t get it, you never will, Trump had no intention to give it to you. He played America and now he has a grip on a vast number of voters. He has power and as long as that is true America is in danger.
In the end, he is going out with a sad, pathetic attempt to hold on to the power he was given. Using litigation to create conspiracy and stall the inevitable. Once again proving he cannot be successful on his own merits and accomplishments. He has to scam, lie and cheat to win in life. His failure as a president will go down in infamy as an attempted coup on the United States, being impeached and being a one term president.
Hiding out in the White House as if he believes staying in the Oval Office will somehow keep him as president. Brooding at the desk, sitting in the chair he never really deserved; with the ghost of his father eternally bound to him, once again reminding him that he is a loser.
