Joe Biden is doing something I never believed possible: He’s impressing me. I’m actually coming to like him, because he’s been such a voice of reason and patience in the last couple of days. I’d forgotten that was even possible in the age of Tramp.
I never thought I'd sign up to make comments here, and I certainly never thought I'd post a diary here. If I'm doing it wrong, please let me know. It's just that since last night, I've noticed something that's impressing me. Joe Biden is behaving in a very presidential manner. Like the kind of thing we haven't seen since Hillary's sterling defeat of that eleven hour Ungodly committee. (That's how I came to refer to the endless Benghazi committee hearings.) Joe is impressing me, which he never did before. And how is he doing it? Like this:

And that's been what he's been doing for the last few days. It's refreshing, and a marked contrast from the hysterical Tramp. Or at least, that's what he seems to be doing in my eyes.
The BBC's data on the vote tally has Biden at 253 with Tramp at 214, and six states yet to report. Last night, Biden was approximately 17 electoral votes fewer and seven states hadn't reported. It was a nice surprise to see the improvement in numbers.
I'll freely admit that when Biden became the nominee, I was not impressed. I was terrified. He seemed to be me to be just Marshmallow White Guy, and a vain effort to recapture the Obama era (but with Republicans in control of Congress for over half his time, thus rendering him powerless, why would we want that back? At least Bill Clinton could beat them at their own game. Obama didn't even try!)
I wasn't happy with Biden as the nominee. We could've had Warren (my favorite), or any of the others. It dismayed me that it went to him, and alarmed me. I've been wavering between liking him and fear all this time. Of course I planned to vote, and did vote on election day. Tramp must be sent out of the White House and up the river. A vote for the Greens is a vote for Tramp at this time. I figured that out in 2016.
Over the last few days, however, my opinion is somewhat changing. I'm becoming far more impressed with Biden in this current situation. He's confident, but not cocky. Instead, he's calling for calm and trying to get people to be rational and wait for the results. This may seem humdrum to all of you, but to me, after four years of Tramp, this is a nice alternative vision. Calm and steady. It's as if Tramp's the hurricane, and Biden is providing a temporary eye where we can feel the winds and rain but not be caught up in it.
Right now, much to my delighted surprise, Biden seems to be acting presidential (as I said before). It shows a strength I never saw in him before. I'm chuffed with it. And I'm quite chuffed that his numbers on the electoral vote are rising. Not the landslide we dreamed of, perhaps, but most of the time I'm the Misfortune-teller, the doom and gloom specialist. So this is the most optimistic any of you are likely to get out of me. May Biden win. Even this nation needs some calm after so many years of stress and tension.
