Georgia’s Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan was on CNN this morning and gave an interview. Couched in the usual Republican-speak, he took multiple shots at Trump, Loeffler and Perdue. Check it out:
Transcript of a few highlights:
I would urge the President, I would urge Republicans to redirect their post-election approach here.
Long-term, I think, we hurt the brand of our Republican Party, which is certainly bigger than one person.
But I've also learned that communicating is important. [...] We need to see leaders that inspire us, and not talk down. I think that's a lesson we, as Republicans, can learn.
On January 20, when President-elect Biden is sworn in, this is gonna still be America, this is still gonna be a great place to raise your family and run your business.
I would encourage both of the Senators to stay focussed on the task at hand, winning the election. Not getting wrapped up in any sort of election fraud or any of that.
We're almost a month into this and we have yet to see any sytemic fraud, any sort of organized effort around fraud. And I'm proud of that.
Q: Will you or the Governor be there when President Trump comes down [to Georgia on Saturday] to help campaign?
A: I've got a full day on Saturday. I'm not even sure of the President's travel descriptions.
Duncan will certainly “live in interesting times” today.
While Republicans are fighting each other, Democrats across Georgia will be working hard today, as the registration deadline for the January 5 election is coming up in less than a week. Can you chip in to support Democratic County Committees via ActBlue? They are doing the hard work on the ground, often in deeply red areas.
