I’m going to admit something: My medium of choice has always been the printed word. I am a writer, and I’ve long avoided cameras to the greatest extent possible. I was hesitant about trying to do something on video. Yet I am having a real blast with The Brief, our weekly YouTube show about politics. While it’s currently video-only, a podcast version of the show is on the horizon. I’m excited to see it available in even more platforms!
And I love the show because we get to talk to amazing people and activists every week. Last week we took a look at the role of the Asian community in winning Georgia, while the week before we explored how critical the Navajo Nation was in winning Arizona. Several weeks ago we caught up with Washington Post campaign writer Dave Weigel while he was literally on the ground covering a campaign rally in Georgia. It’s a different way to consume Daily Kos, for sure, and I’m totally into it. You can see our list of shows here.
Today’s episode will run live at 1:30 PT/4:30 ET, and you can catch it afterward on our YouTube channel.
Today we welcome Joe Trippi, a veteran of countless Democratic campaigns, including his breakout stint with Howard Dean in the 2004 presidential primary. More recently, Trippi was a senior adviser and media strategist for Sen. Doug Jones’ improbable special election victory in Alabama (as well as this year’s regular election, in which Alabama reasserted itself as a conservative bastion).
We will talk about Georgia and the future of Democratic campaigns.
You can follow Trippi on Twitter and catch him on his weekly podcast, That Trippi Show.
