DK has several hundred groups across a huge range of interests, some defunct and some long-running and others in-between. Below are some new ones. You don’t have to join their group to read and comment at diaries originated or reblogged there; just click on their blogview or on their diary-list page (that’s the group-name link), bookmark the page in your browser, and drop by whenever you like. If you want automatic delivery to your Activity Stream of diaries originated there (many groups only reblog, so this won’t work for that) diary, click on the group’s name below, and you’ll see —centered nearish the top— ♥ Follow to click on. (It’ll become Unfollow and that’s how you know you did it rite.) More how-to info after the listings.

To follow/subscribe to diaries of a particular author, hover your cursor on her/his name just below the diary title or in the comments thread, and you’ll see what to do next.
To follow/subscribe to diaries on topics that a diary you like was written about, look in the skinny left-margin column of a diary like that and find a section headed TAGS. Hover yr cursor on whichever of the tags interests you, and you’ll see the outline of a heart. Click that so the heart goes solid orange, and you’ll get all diaries tagged like that automatically delivered to your Activity Stream page.
Clicking on just the tag will take you to the page of the most recent diaries with that tag, showing names of kosaks who write them, and those who follow the tag.
For example, you can hover on #DKGroups in the taglist of this diary you’re reading, and click the heart solid to get future diaries in this series automatically sent to you and/or you can click on that tag itself to see previous diaries like this. Or just click here.
To reach your
Activity Stream page, one route is by clicking on your own name up near the top right hand corner of the screen you’re looking at right now. That’ll get you a drop-down menu this illustration shows.
Your Activity Stream is the 7th link down.
Most of the earlier diaries in this series have more how-to information where groups are concerned. And the three directories listed in the yellow KEY TO SYMBOLS box have more as well.
If you still haven’t had enough (!) you can click on tutorials and you can read up at the official HELPDESK KNOWLEDGE BASE.
There are also several friendly, regularly “meeting” open-thread groups where you can usually post a comment asking a question about how-to, and usually there’ll be someone there who can answer or can help you find where to get answers (altho’ there may be a time lag of a few minutes to a few hours, or even a day or two, before you get a reply — we live in anxious times right now and that can cause delays). Some of those groups are:
■ MOT - Morning Open Thread appx 3a.m. leftkost, 6a.m. east every morning
■ Street Prophets appx 1pm leftkost, 4 pm east daily, Brunch All Day Sundays & Saturdays (?) starting 7:30a.m.pst
