An Open Letter To The President of The United States of America.
I am writing this letter with much chagrin. Not so much for me but the President.
This President swore an oath "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Over the last 3+ years of this administration, the President has failed on numerous occasions to uphold that oath and I am ashamed. I am ashamed for the more than 328 million citizens of this country that expected so much more from this President. He has repeatedly shown more regard for his popularity and reputation than for the people he was elected to serve. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that he constantly refuses to tell the truth about the actions of his administration and tries his best to hide those actions by creating a fictional scenario that better reflects his actions as beneficial in some respect. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that his sole purpose when it comes to the economy and finances, seems to focus on benefitting the wealthy and the privileged, rather than the poor and needy. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed when I see him blatantly countermand previous laws intended to protect the environment and the health of the American people. He seems more intent on somehow benefitting the fossil fuel industry, the insurance industry, the banking industry and all large successful industries over that of the people actually in need of protection. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that he has repeatedly expunged numerous persons and organizations whose sole purpose was to provide aid and services to those most in need. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that this President caters to dictators and oligarchs and praises them as somehow being great people, when in fact most, if not all of them, have done more to harm the people they claim to represent than any enemy might. And I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that this President has cancelled or reneged on so many treaties and accords with friendly countries to harm the world economies and infrastructures. And I am ashamed.
This man does not deserve the support of anyone who has a conscience.
