The Stonehenge Air Museum is located in a residential area near the golf course in Fortine, Montana. This small museum contains about two dozen vintage aircraft, including some one-of-a-kind planes. Shown below are some of the monoplanes which are on display in the museum.
1929 Curtiss-Robertson Robin C-1
This utilitarian aircraft carried a pilot and two passengers. The passengers sat side-by-side behind the pilot and it was helpful if the passengers were not overly large.
1940 Piper J3L Cub
The Piper J3L Cub was the primary trainer aircraft in the Civilian Pilot Training Program (CPTP). By the end of World War II, four out of five U.S. military pilots had received their military training in Piper Cubs.
1984 Piper Cheyenne 400LS
Approximately 44 of this model were produced and only 22 of those are still registered in the U.S.
The fastest production turbo-prop in the world at the time of its introduction, the Cheyenne was designed to compete with smaller fanjets, having performance comparable to jets like the Cessna Citation but with a roomier cabin and significantly lower fuel consumption, especially at lower altitudes.
