For those who have no idea who he is, Van Jones is an Ivy League educated, former member of Barack Obama’s inner circle. But because of virtually never-ending right-wing attempts to smear Obama from any and all possible directions (from loosely 2007 onward), Jones was forced to resign in late 2009 from his job as a special advisor to then President Obama. Due to accusations that his past associations with supposed “violent” left-wing radicals should be interpreted as a sign that Obama himself was surrounding himself with black radicals, and gearing up to turn America into a far-left, radical, “Communist”, anti-white, s**thole country.
Since his resignation in 2009, Jones has been most well known as a regular commentator on CNN. And especially, as a never-ending voice imploring African Americans to moderate their long-held stances and views on race in America. For this posture, Jones has been much beloved by a great many moderate white Democrats. But, in no uncertain terms, conversely Mr. Jones has grown to be absolutely reviled by a huge segment of the African American community
Today, that dynamic has almost certainly changed...inexorably!!!
White America…
You need very, very much to understand the magnitude of what’s at stake in the wake of George Floyd’s death, in order to make a man like Van Jones — who has been considered to be a proverbial “Uncle Tom” by a huge segment of the African American community — make such an unprecedented and irrevocable statement like this! I cannot emphasize enough what a profound, profound change of tone Mr. Jones is taking here!
And, hopefully, what it should lead you to ask is, “What could make a man who has spent the last 11 years making it virtually his life’s work to appease white America, suddenly make such an incredible reversal away from virtually everything he has stood for in that time?” This is akin to the late George Wallace — who uttered the infamous words, “...segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” — suddenly becoming the single most powerful advocate for Civil Rights in all of America!
THIS IS HUGE!!!
And it essentially leaves two choices: Either, remain tribal, rely of what you think you already know, and be very, very afraid of that which you don’t understand. Or else, seek to understand the full magnitude and incredible importance of what this very profound moment by Mr. Jones represents.
