That’s what candidate Ben Marcus hears when he holds Black Lives Matter signs. His hecklers say “all lives matter”, point to their flags (thin blue line flags, Betsy Ross flags) and threaten his safety. They don’t think he should be out advocating for BLM.
Ben Marcus is a big believer in community though and understands privilege.
I’m privileged to live in a neighborhood with all sorts of investment in parks, schools, shopping and roads. At the same time there are huge parts of the city that go ignored for basics, like access to sewer and water, for no reasonable explanation except discrimination.
Ben works as a non profit consultant and has a long history of volunteerism, starting even before he joined AmeriCorps, and continuing today with a variety of local causes. He is a true believer in the power of community.
