About the picture above: Weekend at Bernie's is a 1989 American black comedy film directed by Ted Kotcheff and written by Robert Klane. The film stars Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman as young insurance corporation employees who discover that their boss, Bernie, is dead. While attempting to convince people that Bernie is still alive, they discover that Bernie had ordered their deaths to cover up his embezzlement. It grossed $30 million on a $15 million budget. The film's success inspired a sequel, Weekend at Bernie's II (1993). Wikipedia
The state that brought us Sarah Palin has also brought us the only Senate Republican willing to call out Donald Trump for the fascist photo-op stroll that prompted 1000 memes including mine, below:
In the midst of claims from several GOP senators who were, as they no doubt see it, “ambushed” by reporters that they hadn’t seen the video or heard about the tear gas enabled walk Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski was candid and unabashed in her criticism.

The following quotes are from “No surprise here: Republican senators largely stand by Trump after his church photo op” in The Washington Post (subscription).
“I’m relieved that apparently there were few to no injuries last night, apparently little to no looting,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
“A lot of this is going to be in the eye of the beholder,” Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the No. 2 Senate Republican.
“Just don’t comment on that,” Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah).
“I am glad the president led yesterday by going to a church,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.).
“You can characterize it the way you want, but obviously the president is free to go where he wants and to hold up a Bible if he wants,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.)
While congressional Republicans with the exception of Murkowski are avoiding criticizing Trump for this, Scott Walker went round the bend in complementing his guts. He walked his big gut out of the White House but the notion this took guts as in courage, words fail me: 😁 😂 🤣 😃.
I don't know what hashtag about this is trending on Twitter — it should be called the walk of shame. All I can say is that I’m surprised he didn't have flower girls throwing rose petals at his feet.
This is Trump’s tweet:
Aside looking up the fact that her term doesn’t expire until 2023, I wonder if Trump bothered looking up Murkowski in Wikipedia to see whether a Trumpian candidate with a pulse could beat her. Consider:
The 2016 United States Senate election in Alaska was held on November 8, 2016, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Alaska, concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections
Incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski won re-election to a third term in office.[1] The primaries were held on August 16.[2] She was challenged by several candidates, including: Democrat Ray Metcalfe, a former Republican state legislator; Independent Margaret Stock, an attorney; and Libertarian Joe Miller, who had previously defeated Murkowski for the Republican nomination six years before.[3]
Murkowski was re-elected with 44.4% of the vote, becoming the first person in history to win three elections to the U.S. Senate with pluralities but not majorities, having taken 48.6% in 2004 and 39.5% in 2010.[4] Miller's 29.2% finish was the best ever for a Libertarian candidate in a U.S. Senate election in terms of vote percentage[a]. His vote total was surpassed 2 years later by Gary Johnson, though Miller received a higher percentage of the overall vote. Wikipedia
I wonder if Trump is aware of this:
Murkowski famously lost her 2010 GOP primary race in Alaska, but she won her Senate election anyway with an impressive write-in campaign. She’s thus much less reliant on the Republican Party for political power than many others, which may explain why she felt free to express her doubts in the first place. Nevertheless, it’s doubtless true that she’d rather not have Trump campaigning against her when she’s up for re-election if she can help it. From RawStory
This is how Sen. Murkowski responded to the George Floyd murder on Twitter in a May 30 tweet two days before his photo foray into a dispersed vicious crowd of peaceful protestors. Note the replies.
My hunch is that Bernie Lomax was most certainly a Republican who Trump would have admired considering that he was an embezzler willing to hire a hitman to kill people to cover up his wrongdoing.
Update: Mister Sensitivity in his speech about the economy today envisions George Floyd looking down saying how great things are in the country in terms of equality.
