Would Portlanders, Chicagoans, New Yorkers etc, under the 2nd Amendment, have the right to shoot unidentified troops threatening them in their own city? Is incursion by the Federal Govt not why the 2nd Amendment was written into the Constitution? Somebody? Please "splain" that to me.
That having been said, the Media too often misses the point. It argued that Trump wanted a photo op and used the Military to facilitate that. It seems not unreasonable and far more likely to conclude that Trump’s goal IS to use the military against the people and he created an excuse (the Bible pic), just as he intends to use protesters in cities around the Country as an excuse to impose his will utilizing the US Military forces.
The Autocrat’s Play-Book!
(I’m surprised by the reactions, below. I’m asking a question … maybe poorly. Better … what if an armed unidentified camouflaged person has just taken hold of your child and is dragging that child off and wearing no identification and refusing to identify themselves? Should you let them do this, try to reason with them or use whatever force is available to you to stop them? … or?)
Addendum: May it never come to this … But considering for a moment that this is “a wagging the dog” effort that will continue on to seek to incite violence in the cities, emphasizing those under Dem controls and other Sanctuary Cities, what does a Citizen do in fear of loss of the principles of the Republic or the Republic, itself? All the people who went missing in So. America … picked up by Government “Agents” … all those who went missing in Soviet Russia, in Egypt, in Iraq … Hell! I raise the question and some here have suggested that I’m recommending insurrection or snipering. What shall I do if my 19 year old grandson is peacefully protesting and is being dragged off by folk who won’t identify themselves? What if agent provocateurs come in just to incite violence? Maybe? Skip the accusations and threats, perhaps, to remove this question, for a moment. We’re in an absolutely typical moment. A leader is 6 months away from maybe being prosecuted for what Oliver Cromwell might call … crimes against the state. His term is up. Half the country or more believes that he’s corrupt and open to doing most anything to hold onto power. Think Brazil, Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Venezuela, … A cornered Mad-Dog Leader? Anyone wanna help an older gentleman with this query?
