If you haven’t heard already, Joe Biden announced on Tuesday, after months of speculation, that Sen. Kamala Harris of California will be his running mate against the craven Republican squad of Donald Trump and Michael Pence. Sen. Harris was on a lot of short lists for this position after she bowed out of the Democratic primary in December. For those worried about her potentially open seat come 2021, head on over here to find out what that means.
Much will be written in the next few hours and days and weeks about Sen. Harris. One of the things I think is positive about Biden’s choice of Harris is that she continues to shine during public hearings, highlighting the current administration’s corruptions and criminally anti-democratic behaviors. Whether or not there are debates between Pence and Harris remains to be seen, but with COVID-19 ravaging our country and public campaigning being a difficult and complicated proposition, Sen. Harris’ strengths as a legislator will hopefully serve her well as she campaigns during these interesting times.
Many people around the interwebs were excited to hear the announcement. I’ve collected a few reactions for you to peruse.
