Political junk mail has been light to non-existent during this cycle so far. So imagine my surprise when on August 13, I received one ‘from Trump’. It was labeled as URGENT NOTICE. It included two application forms for a mail in ballot and urged me to send in my application to vote by mail now, as it is perfectly safe.
Many comments were scattered throughout the mailer such as:
He assured me that “…Absentee Ballots are fine because you have to go through a precise process to get your voting privilege.”
He spent a full page on arguments and persuasions entitled
“ARE YOU GOING TO LET THE DEMOCRATS SILENCE YOU?”
- Act now to stand with President Trump.
- Joe Biden and radical Democrats’ dangerous calls to “defund the police” will bring chaos to our streets and prohibit our economic recovery from continuing.
- Joe Biden and his liberal allies want to silence conservatives. They want to silence you. Will you let them?
- President Trump will always fight for law and order. The President’s first duty is the safety of the American people.
Stand with President Trump. Request your absentee ballot
today.
He concluded with the last page summation:
“…we will not be tyrannized.
we will not be demeaned, and
we will not be intimidated by bad,
evil people. It will not happen.”
President Donald J. Trump

Now, I, like Alice in Wonderland, am wondering why I am encountering all these little invitations to drink the Kool-Aid. Does he think that I am a Republican? I never have been.
More importantly, why is he sending out this wholesale advocation of the safety and efficiency of voting by mail? I thought he was against that because of ‘fraud’. And why is he sending applications to vote by mail, when they are readily available through the Boards of Elections everywhere? And look, his USPS mail is floating right on through the system. I wonder if this came before or after ‘the powers that be’ confiscated the sorting machines?
But as I flipped and flopped the form, (which is pre-addressed to my local Board of Elections) I became aware that if I filled out the application form enclosed on the single page tri-folded mailer, it would be easily distinguishable with his picture or design on the outside of the form. Each form is designed to be folded in half when completed. On the back side of one form would appear Trump’s picture. On the backside of the other form are instructions for filling out the form with matching background and font colors of the mailer (white font on black background or black font on yellow background) , neither of which appeared on the application form I have already received from my State Board of Elections. Is this a bug or a feature? Is this some kind of identifier?
What do you think?
